Jaén 9-4 Barça: Winning streak ended
Not the Catalans' day as the home side take advantage of too many errors
After eight consecutive wins, the Barça futsal team have suffered a serious reverse as they collapsed to a large defeat in Jaén. It was a day when things just didn't go right, while the home side took almost every chance they had.
But there will be two chances to make emends, for straight after Christmas, there's a Friday trip to Osasuna to come and also the semifinals of the Copa Catalunya against l'Hospitalet Bellsport before the year is out.
Today, Jaen got off to the start they wanted with a penalty from Chino and an own goal from Matheus meaning they led after the first quarter of an hour. But Antonio narrowed the gap and Pito ended it with goals either side of the break.
Mati Rosa promptly put Jaen ahead again, but immediately from the restart Adolfo levelled things up yet again.
Until then, a tight game. But then came the blaugrana collapse. Alan Brandi made it 4-3, and Mati Rosa, a Fits own goal, a powerful strike from Dani Zurdo and another from Mati Rosa suddenly had the Catalans in an impossible situation. From 3-3, it was now 7-3.
Barça desperately tried to make up for things with a rush goalie, but it just to another goal for Espindola. With the game utterly over, Catela and Chino scored a goal for each side, but none of it mattered now. Today was a day to forget.
