By India Today Sports Desk: Nijat Masood's dream run for Afghanistan in the one-off Test against Bangladesh on Thursday as the debutant picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in Dhaka.

Masood on Wednesday had scripted history as he became the seventh bowler in the history of Test cricket to take a wicket with his first ball.

The 24-year-old dismissed Bangladesh opener Zakir Hasan for one in the second over of the match. The Afghanistan bowler was able to celebrate the dismissal after his team's successful review for caught behind.

Bangladesh had then made a stunning comeback in the match, thanks to Najmul Shanto's 146. The hosts had ended the day at 362 for the loss of five wickets in 79 overs with Masood picking up two wickets.

The 24-year-old had dismissed Mominul Haque to complete his tally for day one.

The hosts were looking to get to a big total when Masood returned to wreak havoc on the batting lineup alongside Yamin Ahmadzai. Mehdy Hasan was the first to be dismissed on the day for 48 as Ahmadzai picked up the wicket. Masood would then get the big wicket of Mushfiqur Rahim after a few balls as Afghanistan slowly clawed their back into the contest.

Two balls later, the 24-year-old would strike again as he dismissed Taijul Islam for a duck. Ahmadzai trapped Taskin Ahmed in front of the stumps as the Bangladesh innings completely unravelled in front of their fans in Dhaka.

Masood returned to add the finishing touches as he cleaned up Shoriful Islam for six runs as the hosts folded for 382. Bangladesh lost five wickets for just 20 runs in the process.

Masood ended up with figures of five for 79 from his 16 overs.
