Broos vows to resign if Bafana Bafana does not qualify for AFCON ...

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos remains confident about securing a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Facing crucial qualification matches, Broos has stated that Bafana Bafana only needs two draws from their upcoming games against Uganda and Congo to guarantee their qualification.

“Two draws, we qualify, because in the game against Congo, we were the winners. So, if we have two draws, we have six points ahead,” he explained.

Broos is acutely aware of the weight of the task, even publicly declaring that he would resign if the team fails to qualify.

“We can’t accept not qualifying for AFCON. If we can’t win, I tell you, I immediately take the flight, and you will never see me back again,” he said firmly.

Broos also pointed out the progress Bafana Bafana has made, citing the team’s performance as a bronze medallist nine months ago.

“Can you imagine that a bronze medallist from nine months ago can’t even qualify for the next AFCON?” he questioned, underscoring that the team has the skill and readiness needed to succeed.

With matches set to take place in Kampala and at home, Broos is optimistic that the team will deliver, allowing him to fulfil his promise to see Bafana Bafana compete in the upcoming AFCON tournament.
