Broos Makes Plea With Tau After Latest Bafana Snub - iDiski Times
Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has pleaded with Al Ahly striker Percy Tau to make a move away from the Egyptian giants to again be eligible for national team selection.
Tau was again snubbed from the 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Uganda and South Sudan this month with the coach saying he didn’t pick him because he is not playing regularly for Ahly.

Broos told the media at the announcement of the squad on Thursday that the door is not closed on Tau returning to the team however he needs his forward to leave his current club and be in a positive environment.
“You know Percy Tau don’t play anymore for the moment he is always on the bench,” Broos told reporters on why the pacy forward was snubbed.
“So, I said already two months ago the environment for him in Al Ahly is not positive. So, at the moment, they wanted to sell him then he wasn’t sold. And then you have the critics on social media from South Africans who were not happy with his performances.

“So, I don’t think that it’s now the right moment for Percy to come and be with Bafana Bafana but that doesn’t mean that he will never come again.
“So, I hope, really hope, that he can change clubs that he can be in a more positive environment, that he can make the performances again that we can expect from him.
“And then he will be again a very important player for Bafana Bafana,” Broos further said.
