Dusan Vlahovic was at the double as Juventus rallied despite being at a numerical disadvantage for the final 31 minutes to secure a 2-1 win over RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League.

Benjamin Sesko opened the scoring for the Bundesliga side 30 minutes in, cannoning an effort in off the crossbar after being teed up by Lois Openda.

But Dusan Vlahovic restored parity five minutes after the break as he flicked Andrea Cambiaso's cross into the far corner. But Juve's evening turned treacherous an hour in as goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio was adjudged to have handled the ball outside the box after coming out to thwart Openda.

Sesko made matters worse for the visitors by putting Leipzig back ahead from the penalty spot six minutes later. But the frantic clash took another turn as Vlahovic secured his double on 69 minutes with a stunning effort, racing towards the box before curling an inch-perfect left-footed strike into the top corner.

And Francisco Conceicao secured a fantastic Juve comeback eight minutes from time with a superb individual effort, darting in the right side of the box before beating Castello Lukeba and sliding an effort under Peter Gulacsi.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid's unbeaten start to the season came to a crashing halt in Portugal as Benfica romped to a convincing 4-0 win.

Kerem Akturkoglu continued his excellent start to the season by opening the scoring for the Portuguese side inside 13 minutes. And seven minutes after the break, Angel Di Maria converted from the penalty spot to double down on Diego Simeone's misery.

Alexander Bah grabbed Benfica's third 15 minutes from time, and Orkun Kokcu swept home from the penalty spot in the 84th minute to compound an awful evening for Atletico.

Elsewhere, AS Monaco - who stunned Barcelona in their Champions League opener - fought back to secure a 2-2 draw at Dinamo Zagreb, while Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge edged Sturm Graz with a 1-0 win.

ATALANTA RUN RIOT OVER SHAKHTAR, FEYENOORD WIN

Ademola Lookman grabbed a goal and an assist to help his side in Europe yet again, as Atalanta brushed aside Shakhtar Donetsk with a 3-0 victory in the UEFA Champions League at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen.

Lookman scored a decisive hat-trick to help Atalanta to UEFA Europa League glory against Bayer Leverkusen last season, and the former Charlton Athletic star showed his incredible capabilities in Europe once more to lead his side to their first win of the 2024/25 Champions League campaign.

The Europa League champions opened the scoring mid-way through the first half, with Berat Djimsiti turning home from close range after Lookman's cross caused mayhem in the Shakhtar box.

Lookman doubled the Serie A side's lead a minute before half-time as he found a pocket of space in the box to convert from Sead Kolasinac's low ball in.

Raoul Bellanova established a three-goal cushion for Gian Piero Gasperini's side just minutes after the break, heading home with ease from Davide Zappacosta's floated cross to the far post.

The victory serves as a welcome boost for Atalanta, who have struggled in their Serie A campaign so far with just two wins from their opening six matches.

Elsewhere, Feyenoord edged a frantic affair against La Liga side Girona - eventually earning a 3-2 win to kick-start their Champions League campaign.

David Lopez opened the scoring for Girona - netting the club's first-ever Champions League goal.

But the Eredivisie club responded astutely, with Quinten Timber forcing an own-goal from Yangel Herrera to level the scores on 23 minutes, before going ahead 10 minutes later through 19-year-old Antoni Milambo, who converted at the near-post with a disguised finished.

The match soon descended into a rut of near-misses as Feyenoord's Ayase Ueda failed to further his team's advantage by missing from the penalty spot.

Soon after the break, Girona were denied an equaliser after Donny van de Beek was adjudged to have strayed offside before forcing an own goal from Feyenoord defender David Hancko.

Girona forward Bojan Miovski then missed a penalty as an equaliser eluded the Catalan side, but Van de Beek finally got his side level with 16 minutes to play - the former Manchester United midfielder scoring his first goal in over two years.

His effort was ultimately in vain, however, as Girona suffered their second Champions League defeat in as many matches when Hancko forced an own goal from Ladislav Krejci in the 79th minute.
