Crystal Palace vs Arsenal live score updates: Premier League match ...
Crystal Palace XI: Johnstone, Ward, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell, Doucoure, Lerma, Eze, Schlupp, Edouard, Ayew
Arsenal XI: Ramsdale, Partey, White, Saliba, Tomiyasu, Rice, Havertz, Odegaard, Saka, Martinelli, Nketiah
21' Crystal Palace 0-0 Arsenal
Doucoure unleashes a powerful shot from beyond the Arsenal box, which flashes across the face of goal but fails to hit the target.
The Palace supporters show their support; the atmosphere at Selhurst Park has been loud and full of energy from the off tonight.
17' Crystal Palace 0-0 Arsenal
Palace are beginning to flash their attacking threat. A cross from Ayew forced Ramsdale to parry the ball into the middle of the box, nearly sitting up for a dangerous Palace shot.
Moments later, Edouard backed White down and nearly found a lane to shoot through from point-blank range.
14' Crystal Palace 0-0 Arsenal
Saka leads a quick counter-attack before playing the ball out wide to Nketiah along his right.
Nketiah appears to have waited too long to play his pass, but managers to slip Saka into space despite the defence recovering.
Saka's ensuing shot is blocked, earning Arsenal their second corner of the match. The corner comes to nothing however, an easy catch for Johnstone.
8' Crystal Palace 0-0 Arsenal
Palace mount their first attack of the match through Ayew down the right side. He gets past Tomiyasu but Saliba prevents his cross from reaching a team-mate.
6' Crystal Palace 0-0 Arsenal
Arsenal have unsurprisingly been in control of the majority of possession thus far.
The last time Palace won the ball, they immediately gave it back by sending it long for the chance at a breakaway, which Ramsdale prevented by playing quite high up the pitch.
Palace will have to be more deliberate on the ball if they hope to keep Arsenal at bay in this match.
2' Crystal Palace 0-0 Arsenal
Havertz collects a loose ball on the edge of the Palace box, controls it in tight quarters and finds Martinelli in space on the far side.
Martinelli has his shot blocked, as does Saka after the rebound comes to him.

Crystal Palace are yet to lose at home in the Premier League since Roy Hodgson’s return to the club, winning three and drawing two.
Can Mikel Arteta and Arsenal break that streak?
Bukayo Saka spoke to Sky Sports before the game about equalling Paul Merson's club record for consecutive Premier League appearances: "I could not have imagined it. It is a nice record and I am really proud to break these records for this special club."
On last week's win against Nottingham Forest: "It is really important we started well and we are really happy with last week's result and now we are looking to get three points tonight.
"We know how tough it is to come here as the atmosphere is really good and they have some really good players. But we are feeling good and we have had a good week.
"We need to fight for every ball and hopefully we can get the three points."
Wilfried Zaha's departure earlier this summer has put a lot of the attacking pressure on Eberechi Eze in the Crystal Palace team.
He stepped up to the plate and emphatically delivered against Sheffield United last weekend, but Arsenal pose a much greater threat than Paul Heckingbottom's newly-promoted side.
It feels like if Palace are to get anything out of today's game, Eze will have to be at his brilliant best.
Matt Woosnam looked at the 25-year-old's performance on the opening day and how this theme is likely to continue as the season goes on — you can read it below.

Mikel Arteta makes one change to the starting line-up that beat Nottingham Forest last weekend, bringing in Takehiro Tomiyasu for the injured Jurrien Timber.
Gabriel is on the bench for the second game running, while Kieran Tierney remains absent from the squad.
David Raya is also on the bench for the first time since joining the club from Brentford, while Oleksandr Zinchenko returns from injury and is available as a substitute.
Bukayo Saka makes his 82nd straight start in the Premier League, equaling Paul Merson's club record for the longest such run in the competition, which was set between 1995 and 1997.
In May, two decades will have passed since Arsenal went a whole league season without losing a game.
They remain the only club to have achieved that feat in the Premier League era and, as the division gets stronger, it looks increasingly unlikely that they will be joined by any other teams.
The Athletic's Jordan Campbell spoke to some of the players tasked with facing the likes of Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira and Sol Campbell — check it out below.

Extending the Premier League weekend to Monday, what's not to love?
Well, if you're Mikel Arteta. you may dread seeing Monday night fixtures on your schedule.
As manager of Arsenal, he has been involved in four Monday fixtures away from home and the results are bleak:
September 28, 2020 – Liverpool 3-1 ArsenalDecember 6, 2021 – Everton 2-1 ArsenalApril 4, 2022 – Crystal Palace 3-0 ArsenalMay 16, 2022 – Newcastle 2-0 ArsenalFour games, four losses, 10 goals conceded, two goals scored...
The list of the top 10 most expensive transfers of all time looks a little different now.
Neymar is still in first place and Kylian Mbappe second.
But there is a new order below them and, some would say, it is a sign of the changing face of modern football on the pitch. Others will argue it is more of a reflection of Chelsea’s financial muscle off the field and a nine-figure deal around the turn of the year that distorted the transfer market.
Either way, there is no question that the No 6 position is in vogue right now and valued — literally — like never before. Three players have been transferred for more than £100million ($127.1m) in 2023 and all of them are deep-lying midfielders.
Enzo Fernandez was the first, joining Chelsea from Benfica for £106.8million on deadline day in February on the back of winning the World Cup with Argentina. Declan Rice moved from West Ham to Arsenal for £100m last month, and Moises Caicedo signed for Chelsea on Monday for £115m.
The fees are astonishing. In the case of Fernandez and Caicedo, both are now in the top six transfers in the history of the game. As for Rice, he is the ninth-most expensive player of all time — remarkable given that he had entered the final 12 months of his contract with West Ham when Arsenal signed him and therefore could have moved for nothing in 2024.

Caicedo, Rice, Lavia… the fees for deep-lying midfielders are huge – this is why
The £65m signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea raised eyebrows across the Arsenal fanbase, to say the least.
Having flattered to deceive after a big-money move from the Bundesliga in 2020, no one expected to find another £50m+ move, especially one in the Premier League.
However, despite his progress stalling, there was a reason Chelsea fought off competition to sign him three years ago. In an advanced midfield role, he was the talk of German football with all-action performances that were usually rubber stamped with a goal and/or an assist.
He was almost always utilised as a striker at Stamford Bridge, a position that looked unfamiliar to him and Arteta is keen to drag him back into the position he excelled in at Bayer Leverkusen.
Havertz started alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard in the season opener against Nottingham Forest and is expected to continue in that role.
Arteta has been a long-term admirer of the player, and will back himself to restore the 24-year-old to his best form.
