Both teams had first-half chances with Kulusevski and Solanke going close for the hosts, while the visitors nearly took the lead themselves with both Havertz and Martinelli denied by Vicario. However, the crucial moment came in the 64th minute with Spurs' set-piece struggles once again coming to the fore. Saka's inswinging cross wasn't dealt with by Tottenham, and Gabriel was waiting to thunder home a header from close range.
