Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is reportedly a leading candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager.

The Dutchman has caught the eye of several big clubs thanks to Feyenoord’s success since he replaced Dick Advocaat in June 2021.

Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim and Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi are still believed to be under consideration after Xabi Alonso ruled himself out of the running by committing his immediate future to Bayer Leverkusen.

The Guardian, amongst others, suggest Slot has "emerged as a strong candidate" for the position.

The 45-year-old has enjoyed considerable success with Feyenoord, taking them to the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League final in 2022, and the league title the following season. This season, the team won the KNVB Cup playing an attacking brand of football that is eye catching to watch.

He has managed to achieve success on a modest budget and favours a similar on-field formation to that of Klopp, which would suit the current Liverpool players.

The Guardian claims Liverpool "could face competition from Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Milan for his services this summer".
