With the transfer window drawing nearer to a close, AmaZulu FC are believed to be loaning out a defender to Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards for a season, the Siya crew has been informed.

Siya sources close to the two clubs have indicated that Sandile Khumalo is expected to be loaned out to the Limpopo-based side.

The insiders added that this is the second time the 26-year-old could spend time away from Usuthu on loan at Black Leopards.

"The team has decided to loan Sandile (Khumalo) to Black Leopards. They are giving him the needed experience because the club has a future for him in the team but they just want him to continue learning before he can be a regular at the team. It's for his growth and that's why they have loaned him out again," the Siya source stated.

A second source stated that Black Leopards are aiming for automatic promotion this season, which is why they have been signing key players who will boost the squad significantly.

"The new coach Maxwell Konadu and management have set promotion as the main goal and to do that they need players like Sandile (Khumalo). He was also here last season and he understands the team and the situation very well and that's why management and the technical team decided to bring him back for another season," the second source stated.

Soccer Laduma contacted AmaZulu FC PRO Philani Ndlela, who confirmed that Khumalo has been loaned to Black Leopards.

"Yes, I can confirm that our defender Sandile Khumalo has been loaned to Black Leopards for this season. That's true," Ndlela told the Siya crew.

However, efforts to get a comment from Leopards were unsuccessful as there was no response from the club at the time of preparing this story.

Khumalo's loan move to Black Leopards is aimed at providing him with valuable experience and aiding his development. Black Leopards are focused on gaining promotion this season, and Khumalo's return is seen as a key part of their strategy.
