elcome to Sportstar’s highlights of the Saudi Pro League 2023-24 match between Abha and Al Nassr being played at the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Abha. 

90+4’ FULL TIME!! ABH 0-8 NAS

The referee blows the whistle for full time. A completely dominant performance from Al Nassr and one to forget for relegation battling Abha.


Four minutes of added time. Al Nassr is not showing any signs of slowing down, moving the ball forward. Otavio wins a corner for his side.

86’ GOAAL!!

Al Aliwa scores. A fantastic finish into the bottom left corner from Aliwa who received the ball at the edge of the box. 


Abha are still trying to create chances, trying to keep possession of the ball. This will be Abha’s first defeat at home since the end of November.

80’ Chance for Otavio.

Corner for Al Nassr. The ball falls directly at the feet of Otavio who tries a first time shot which ends up going over the bar.


Al Nassr continue its dominance in the game, maintaining possession of the ball. Ali Al-Hassan gets the ball inside the box but chooses to go for goal himself instead of squaring it. Misses the target in the end.


Al Nemer scores for Al Nassr, but the referee calls back for a foul that happened during the build up to the goal.


Chance for Al Nassr right back Al-Boushail. After constantly making runs along the right hand side, he finally gets his sight on goal but slams the ball above the crossbar.


Ghareeb comes off for Awad Aman. Despite the seven goals, Al Nassr are still trying for more, constantly attacking from the right, with still more than 20 minutes to go.

66’ Substitutions for Abha

Captain Jumayah and Krychowiak comes off. They are replaced by Saad Bguir and Saleh Al Qumayzi.


Al Nassr’s Alex Telles is subbed off. He is replaced by Mohammed Qassem Al Nakhli.

63’ GOAALL!!

Number seven for Al Nassr. Substitute Al Aliwa scores. A low cross from the right ricochet’s off Tisserand and falls to Al Aliwa, who finishes it off calmly.

58’ Substitutions for both sides

The scorer of Al Nassr’s fifth goal-Sulaiheem is replaced by Ali Al-Hassan. Abha’s Kamano is replaced by Al-Mutairi.


Tatarusanu makes a decent save as substitute Al Nemer takes a shot from the left, inside the penalty box. 


Chance for Abha. Matic whips in a freekick from the right. Krychowiak stretches but is unable to make significant contact with the ball. Matic gets another freekick, from the left of the penalty box this time. But it sails over the Abha players for a throw in.

51’ GOAALL!!

Ghareeb on the scoresheet!! Otavio wins the ball back from Matic at the half-line. He plays a ball through for Ghareeb who finishes it with his left foot to the top right


Ghareeb runs in towards the box and takes a shot. Forces a good save from Tatarusanu.

Second half resumes!!

Substitutions for Al Nassr. Ronaldo and Mane are replaced by Al Nemer and Al Aliwa. Al Nassr is shooting from left to right.

45+3’ Halftime!!

Three minutes of added time. Abha are completely blown away by Ronaldo and Co. Abha will be looking to go back to its changing room as soon as possible. What a half for 39-year-old Ronaldo who has again shown his class today.

44’ GOAALL!!

Al Sulaiheem scores!! And another assist for Ronaldo. A very easy finish for Sulaiheem from very close range.


Ghareeb plays in a ball from the halfway line for Ronaldo. He receives the ball and chips it over the goalkeeper from 35 yards out. The goalkeeper gets a hand on it but is unable to prevent it from going in.


Five minutes plus added time to go. Abha enjoys a spell of possession as it tries to come back into the match. 

36’ Substitution for Abha

An early susbstitution as Naji comes off and is replaced by Mohammed Al Qahtani.


Mane scores!! Otavio plays a ball into Ronaldo who is unable to take a shot himself. He puts in a low cross from the left which goes past the Abha defenders and keeper to Sadio Mane, who has the whole goal to finish it off.

29’ Yellow card

Krychowiak is booked for a foul on Otavio. He expresses his dissent to the referee who is having none of it.


Telles takes a corner for Al Nassr which is cleared away and sent back for another corner. The ball is once again cleared for another corner. This time Mane gets his head on the ball but the Abha keeper gathers it easily.


Abha is trying to get back in the game with two shots on target from two headers. Al Nassr goalkeeper Ospina is able to make comfortable saves in the end.


Tisserand brings down Ronaldo a little away from his previous scoring position. Ronaldo lines up again. And scores again!!! This time it is the wall which makes the mistake, creating a gap to allow the ball to go through.


A shot on target for Ronaldo who tries his luck from the edge of the box. An easy save for Tatarusanu in the end.


Al Nassr seems to be in control as it keeps possession of the ball. The Abha players are scrambling to win the ball from its opponents.

14’ Yellow card

Abha’s Al Zubaidi is booked for pulling the shirt of an Al Nassr player. First booking of the match.


A foul on Sulaiheem by Naji in a dangerous position just outside the penalty box. Ronaldo lines up for the freekick. And scores!!! Ronaldo shoots it at full power under the wall. The ball goes straight to the goalkeeper who should have done better.


Referee stops play for a VAR check for Al Nassr for a potential foul on Ronaldo. The check is complete. No penalty.


Freekick for Al Nassr after Krychowiak commits a foul. Al Nassr resumes play quickly. Sadio Mane crosses the ball from the right and it drops to Ronaldo. He is unable to utilise the opportunity and wins a corner for his side.

2’ Cleared off the line

Early chance for Al Nassr. Otavio plays in a ball for Ghareeb, who takes an extra touch and is unable to finish the opportunity.

Kick off!!

Abha kicks off the match, all in white, kicking from left to right. Al Nassr is in it its away kit.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr will face Abha away in the Saudi Pro League at the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium.

Al Nassr is second in the table 12 points behind league leaders Al Hilal, while Abha is 17th with 22 points, battling relegation.

Al Nassr has left the woes of its AFC Champions League exit behind and has won its last two matches in the league. Ronaldo scored four goals across these two matches, scoring a hattrick in his side’s last game against Al Tai.

Abha on the other hand will be looking to pull itself out of the relegation zone after drawing with Al-Riyadh in its previous match.
