Substitute Mostafa Fathi scored a stoppage-time goal to complete the thrashing, as Egypt retained their spot at the top of Group C.

Meanwhile, the firepower of Ademola Lookman, Victor Boniface and Victor Osimhen could not help Nigeria avoid a 0-0 stalemate with Rwanda.

Nigeria remain top of the Group D, but could be overtaken by Libya who face Benin later on Tuesday.

Elsewhere in the AFCON qualifiers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a penalty to help Gabon to a 2-0 victory over Central African Republic, while an Oswin Appollis brace inspired South Africa to an entertaining 3-2 victory over South Sudan.
