Activision today launched the highly-anticipated first-person shooting game – ‘Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile’. It is available on both Android and iOS and comes four years after the studio launched the original Warzone.

The new game requires roughly 8GB and 10GB of free space on Android and iOS respectively, so make sure you have enough free space before playing the game. However, the game might need more storage as developers gradually bring new content.

Unlike ‘Call of Duty: Mobile’, ‘Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile’ supports cross-progression, meaning you can connect your existing COD account to unlock in-game rewards on all platforms. Also, all your weapons, blueprints, skins, cosmetics, friend lists, chat channels and even Battle Pass progression will be synced across PC, console and mobile.

Game modes and maps

‘Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile’ currently has four game modes – Battle Royale, Rebirth Resurgence, Mobile Royale and Most Pit. While the first three are battle royale modes, the last one is multiplayer.

The game features two iconic maps – Verdansk and Rebirth Island. While the Battle Royale and Mobile Royale modes are set in Verdansk with player capacities of 120 and 78 players respectively, Rebirth Resurgence pits nine squads of four players each in the tightly packed action-filled Rebirth Island. It also features some popular multiplayer maps like Shipment, Shoot House and Scrapyard.

As expected, ‘Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile’ will have mobile-exclusive events, with the first one being Operation: Day Zero, which will start tomorrow and give players the chance to earn EP and individual rewards.

Gameplay and controls

While the gameplay is similar to the console and PC versions of Call of Duty: Warzone, the game has the same smooth controls you get on ‘Call of Duty: Mobile’. Activision lets players choose between min, low, medium, high and peak and says that the visual fidelity will improve the more you play.

While the FPS is capped at 60 by default, those with high-end phones can set it to uncapped for smoother gameplay. And similar to the PC version, you can also adjust the field of view. Similar to its predecessor – ‘Call of Duty: Mobile’, the newly launched game also lets you create customised load-outs and gives players the option to upgrade their weapons.

‘Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile’ requires iOS 16 and above, meaning it will only run on iPhone 8 or later. As for Android, the minimum system requirements are set at 4GB RAM and require an Adreno 618 or a newer GPU. These are fairly modest requirements, and most smartphones that were launched in 2019 or later will be able to run the game, at least on the lowest possible settings.
