A seasoned beauty pageant contestant and influencer Rumy Alqahtani took to her Instagram on Monday to announce her selection as the representative of Saudi Arabia in the event. Sharing images of herself adorned in a strapless sequined gown, Alqahtani sparked excitement and anticipation among her followers.

According to the Indian Express, Alqahtani has a Bachelor’s degree in dentistry and proficiency in multiple languages including English, French, and Arabic. She has garnered numerous accolades in the pageantry world too. Reports from The Independent highlight her past triumphs, including being crowned Miss Saudi Arabia, Miss Middle East (Saudi Arabia), Miss Arab World Peace 2021 and Miss Woman (Saudi Arabia). Her recent participation in the Miss and Mrs Global Asian pageant in Malaysia further underscores her global presence and recognition.

The upcoming Miss Universe competition, scheduled for September 18 in Mexico, will witness Iran’s debut alongside Saudi Arabia’s historic entry. Last year’s Miss Universe pageant saw Miss Nicaragua, Sheynnis Palacios, clinching the coveted title, marking Nicaragua’s first-ever victory in the prestigious competition. The event also made headlines for its diverse representation, including two transgender contestants and the first plus-size contestant to reach the semi-finals.
