Author Jackie Phamotse has been handed a sentence of two years house arrest after she was found guilty of, among others, defaming power couple Basetsana and Romeo Kumalo on social media platform X. 

The sentence was handed down in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday and will see her under correctional supervision of two years house arrest. 

She also received two fines, one of R12 000 (or four months imprisonment) and another of R18 000 or six months imprisonment.
