Steven Gerrard has suffered his first loss as Al Ettifaq boss as Al Hilal maintained their unbeaten start to the 2023/24 Saudi Pro League season with a 2-0 win in Riyadh.
The hosts dominated throughout as summer signings Aleksandar Mitrovic and Malcom linked up for the the Brazilian to smash home a superb opener.
Veteran striker Salem Aldawsari continued his strong start to the campaign, volleying home Malcom's blocked shot, to make it 2-0 before the break.
Al Ettifaq showed some signs of life after the restart, but Gerrard was unable to spark a fightback, as Al Hilal remain unbeaten under Jorge Jesus in league action this season.
