Nixon Mustang Abigail Esparza signs with Elgin College
LAREDO, Tx. (KGNS) - It was a busy day in Nixon for one of many letter of intent signings.
On Tuesday, one of the Mustang’s basketball stars, Abigail Esparaza signed to continue playing at Elgin Community College in Illinois.
Esparza capped off her senior season by helping the Mustangs finish second in the district with a second straight all district first team honor.
While she was excited for her next chapter, the reality of the situation is settling in as she’s off to brand new adventures.
“I’m traveling somewhere I’ve never been before, but also it’s different and the excitement of going somewhere you haven’t been before and just exciting to be able to continue something that I’ve wanted for my whole life,” said Esparza.
Esparza adds that she can’t wait to start playing in Elgin, Illinois, which is about 45 minutes west of Chicago.
